James Shanahan

James Shanahan is an equity analyst in the Research department, where he is responsible for the coverage of U.S. and Canadian companies operating in the financial services and real estate sectors. He has over 20 years of experience in equity research, covering a variety of financial services and real estate companies. Prior to joining Edward Jones in 2012, James was a senior equity analyst at Wells Fargo Securities, where he covered asset managers.

James has been quoted in numerous publications, including the Financial Times, The Wall Street Journal and Barron’s.

James graduated magna cum laude from St. Louis University with a bachelor’s degree in business administration, majoring in finance. He later earned an MBA from the Olin School of Business at Washington University. He is a CFA® charterholder and is a member of the CFA Institute and the CFA Society of St. Louis.
