Edward Jones Principal Dave Powers leads the Product Review department. His team reviews all new investments offered by the firm and monitors existing investments held by Edward Jones clients to help ensure that clients are offered quality choices. He assumed leadership of Product Review in 2014.
Dave was named a principal with the firm in 1999 and is a member of the Edward Jones Investment Policy Committee. This group develops advice and guidance based on the firm's investment philosophy to support the efforts of branch teams to help individual investors meet their long-term goals.
Dave joined Edward Jones in 1989 as an intern. He joined the firm full time in 1991, after earning a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Missouri at Columbia, and joined the Research department in 1993.
In December 2005, Dave was asked to use the experience he had gained as an analyst to lead the Equity Research department and assume responsibility for the firm’s Stock Focus List. Under his guidance, the list received top rankings in Barron’s stock-picking survey. In 2009, Dave helped launch the firm’s fixed-income research area.
A St. Louis native, Dave enjoys traveling with his wife, Kerri, and spending time with their boys and attending their activities, which include hockey, golf, skiing, soccer and lacrosse.
In addition to his undergraduate degree, Dave earned an MBA from St. Louis University and is a CFA® charterholder. He is a member of the CFA Institute and a past president of the CFA Society of St. Louis.
Dave serves on the Missouri/Kansas Board for the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
